Blackberry Outage Irks Users

So What happens when your Blackberry service stops working? The only reason for keeping a Blackberry is its powerful email capability - something that Nokia Ovi failed to offer. With the Blackberry, I don't have to be in office to answer important business emails. Blackberry delivers the functions I need from a phone... the three core functions: Voice Calls, SMS and Email. No email, no work. And you have to rush to get to your laptop or tablet to read your emails.

I first realized the problem when I did not recieve emails for a few hours. I have five email from five POP3/IMAP servers pushed to my handheld device. This was followed by frantic messages by my Blackberry Service Provider (Telenor) with the last message on Tuesday 11 October, 2011 yelling 'AAALL is well' -- reminding me of the song from the movie 3 Idiots.

Worse than the outage was the immature way RIM's PR team managed it. It is exactly this type of behaviour that could compell a Blackberry user like myself to toss the Blackberry phone into the dustbin (I use a 9780). I could switch to a Non-Blackberry phone like an Android-based phone......

IMHO, maybe its time for the Board to see if the CEO(s) can do some work elsewhere.
